Spaying by the first heat (estrus) will reduce the cancer risk by 50%. Mammary tumors are very common in unspayed females.

Prevention of pyometra is another benefit. This is an infection of the uterus. And we must not forget ovarian cancer. This is totally eliminated by spaying.

Neutered males will be less likely to develop prostate problems which can lead to testicular cancer.

Neutered males are more apt to stay home and not fight with other males.

But the number one reason to spay and neuter is to reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats facing death, disease and suffering because they don’t have a home.

Please spay and neuter your pets to keep them from adding to the national statistic of euthanized animals. Every year more than 3 million unwanted cats and dogs are euthanized at animal shelters. Countless more are cruelly drowned, shot or thrown out on the road to fend for themselves.

Spaying or neutering is beneficial to your pet’s health.
