Donations
* Cat Litter (the shelter goes through 500 pounds or more per week!)
* Cleaning Supplies (Trash Bags, Bleach, Windex, etc.)
* Liquid Laundry Detergent and Liquid hand soap
* Paper towels, paper plates
* Newspaper and old towels and blankets
* Cell Phone and Ink cartridges ( Cell phones & Ink cartridges - the shelter is collecting old cell phones AND old ink cartridges in an effort to raise money for our shelter programs!)
* Dog and Cat food
* Puppy and Kitten food
These donations will be taken to the Poplar Bluff Animal Shelter
Shop in our On-Line Store (planned for the future)
Memorial Gifts
Donations are made on behalf of a pet that has passed away. Proceeds are used to provide humane shelter and animal care for neglected animals.
The AWA's Memorial program helps individuals with the loss of a beloved pet by honoring the life of their "best friend."
Your loving pets will be featured on our website with their photo and also a few words in remembrance of your pet.

Volunteer at the  Poplar Bluff City Animal Shelter!
We need volunteers!!! Volunteers are needed to work with cats and also with dogs. What a better way to give back to your community.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older
If you are interested, please contact us and we will schedule you for an interview and training.

Provide a Foster Home
People find pregnant and nursing cats and dogs and bring them to our animal shelter. We also have dogs and cats that need to recuperate from an injury or from a recent surgery or even puppies or kittens that need to have 24 hour care.
This is when a foster care home is needed.
We hope to initiate a Foster Care program in the near future.
We would need volunteer caregivers who would be willing to provide a temporary home and care to these animals. We know this takes a very special type of person. Someone who can put these animal(s) first and foremost.
If you think you are this type of person, please contact us so we can have you in our database when this foster care program is up and running.
